BYTE ME: Tickled Pink
Well I knew it, I knew I’d be bombarded with questions through Facebook, emails & text about what I was wearing in last night’s “Tickled Pink” episode. Even my Mom was SUPER excited!
Now, while I LOVE wearing my Chef whites I’m so STOKED that I finally got to wear my street digs so I figured I’ll take a cue from my girl Nadia G., check out her show TONIGHT (& every Weds night at 10:30pm on the Cooking Channel!) & list those items if you wanted to cop a piece for yourself. Click blue links to go directly to the store.
Black & Pink Ahoy Playsuit by Bettie Page Clothing: ($112) I LOVE playsuits & jumpsuits one less item of clothing I have to worry about piecing together. I love how youthful & playful it is & the best part is that I got it at Bettie Page, it’s a store a few blocks away from the crib & what I love about that store is that it pays homage to the pinup era, when Women REALLY looked like Women, so there’s a style that complements your body to perfection no matter your shape or size.
Leg Avenue by Ellie Rosy Baby Pink T Strap Shoes with Bows: ($45) YES I LOVE SHOES… but guess what? I’m not a shoe snob. While I may salivate over a Choo or require a panty change from a Loubou I’ve got mad shoes I’ve scored at Ross, Marshalls, DSW, Off Broadway & a gang of other sources so imagine my what I did when I spotted this baby pink number for under 50 bones at the same store I scored the playsuit… you guessed it I jumped up & down like a 13 year old Japanese schoolgirl in sheer delight! Unfortunately these aren’t available on Bettie Page’s website but I found a link for you for a slam-MING price… MAZEL TOV!
Helen Kaminski Jane Bag: ($295) I LIVE for this bag & I use it erry-DAY! Now I wasn’t aware of the price tag until I put this collage together so I have to say my favourite thing about it… is that it was SWAG BABY! I was given this as a gift bag LOADED with Garnier products when I catered a party for Garnier at the Malibu Beach House hosted by Audrina Patridge. It’s so light & has mad room to hold all of my shopping lists, organizers & all the random cookbooks I HAVE to buy when I hit a store & nothing gets lost in the bag, I’m not digging for gold! For a tote I adore how when you throw something in, everything has it’s place. So had I not gotten this for free I would definitely buy one cause I can’t imagine my life without it.
CND Shellac, Strawberry Smoothie: ($19.99 for just the polish) There is a GOD & she LOOOOOOOVES ME! As a Chef getting your nails did is like thee LAST thing on your list, child PLEASE! A manicure has never lasted me more than a day from all the chopping, hand washing, scrubbing, cleaning… UGH my nails were always riddled with chips & breakage & then I heard about gel manicures, yes girl GEL MANICURES that bad girl lasts for TWO weeks!
That’s what I heard so I had to find out. My Manicurist doesn’t do gel manicures so I called around until I found one that did. Since then, I’ve had several gel manicures & have tried gel lacquers made by OPI Axxium (terrible), Gelish (mediocre colors) but the best is this perkily pink beauty called Strawberry Smoothie by CND Shellac that lasted for 23 days, you heard right that’s THREE WEEKS & 2 days. Granted… it costs around $10-$20 more than your regular manicure but it pays for itself because you’re not wasting precious time at the nail salon to get them thangs redone! Time is money, money that can be spent on drinks with your peeps, shoes or Jumbo’s Clownroom… whatevs. Get it together Ladies.
Bella Bean Cupcake Collar, Pink: ($30) This was my Baby girl Diviana’s (Divi’s) collar. She passed away in December & I always wear it or at least carry it in my pocket or purse. It makes me feel like she’s still with me. I miss her very much.
Chanel Levres Scintillantes Brilliant Extreme Glossimer: ($27) & MAC Currant Lip Pencil ($13) these have been my go to colors for well over a decade! I wear them separately but I mostly wear them together & the lip pencil is so versatile because I can control the color from a nice pinkish red to a deep wine/currant when I apply it lightly or when I push it in hard… terrible, I KNOW what you were thinking. HA!
The Pink & Black Hair Clips I bought in Downtown for $1 each, I put them together for that full 40′s floral look.
CHEERS!
